Born and raised in LaGrange, Matt graduated from LaGrange High School in 1989, LaGrange College in 1994, and joined the firm in 1999 after earning his law degree from Mercer University. For nearly 20 years, Matt has successfully litigated cases, including wrongful death and catastrophic personal injury cases, throughout West Central Georgia and Metro Atlanta in the United States District Courts for the Northern and Middle Districts of Georgia and the Superior and State Courts of Troup, Coweta, Carroll, Heard, Meriwether, Upson, Spalding, Fayette, Clayton, Henry, Bibb, Muskogee, Fulton and Dekalb counties.
Matt has a wealth of experience in complex personal injury and wrongful death litigation involving motor vehicle, motorcycle, ATV, bicycle, and trucking accidents as well as products liability. In 2017, Matt, along with Nathan Cronic, won a $2 Million jury verdict in the Superior Court of Troup County for a personal injury client who was injured in a car crash on Interstate I-85. The $2 Million jury verdict is the largest personal injury jury award in the history of Troup County Superior Court and one of the largest personal injury awards in the history of Troup County.
Matt is avid baseball fan and former collegiate athlete (Southern Union State Junior College and LaGrange College) and has supported local athletics and the community both as a parent and alumni of the LaGrange High football and baseball programs and a volunteer coach for high school summer ball, youth and little league baseball in LaGrange and Troup County for over 20 years.
